About the RoleRobert Half is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract opportunity with a manufacturing company in Stratford, Connecticut. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with strong accounts payable experience who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and managing vendor relationships while ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the accounting department by overseeing the full-cycle accounts payable process and maintaining accurate financial records.ResponsibilitiesProcess high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficientlyReview, code, and enter invoices into the accounting systemMatch invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentationResearch and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issuesPrepare and process check runs, ACH transactions, and wire paymentsReconcile vendor statements and maintain vendor accountsEstablish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal departmentsAssist with month-end closing activities, including accounts payable reconciliations and accrualsMaintain accurate electronic and physical accounts payable recordsMonitor outstanding payables and ensure timely payment processingAssist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as neededSupport accounting management with special projects and process improvement initiatives
